5.1. [Off-Season Roster] Every manager is responsible for keeping his roster and prospect list updated. The Yahoo site is automatically updated whenever you make a transaction, however you are responsible for making your own changes here to your ProBoards roster. Once the season ends, it is your responsibility to transfer your roster information from the yahoo site to the Proboards site. Any trades that you do will follow the normal guidelines and then YOU must update the roster following the trade going through. IF YOU DO NOT update your roster and 4 months later you want to know why you don't have Hanley Ramirez , that will be your problem. It is VERY simple to keep your roster updated.
----5.1a[Off-Season MLB Roster Moves] During the Off-season you can drop MLB players from your roster. Once dropped that player becomes a FA and cannot be picked up by another team until next season when they are available on the waiver wire. THE ONLY WAY A PLAYER CAN BE ADDED TO YOUR MLB ROSTER DURING THE OFF-SEASON IS IF HE IS ACQUIRED IN A TRADE OR CALLED UP FROM YOUR MINOR LEAGUE ROSTER. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN ADD A PLAYER TO YOUR MINOR LEAGUE ROSTER DURING THE OFF-SEASON IS VIA TRADE OR MINOR LEAGUE DRAFT.
5.1b[Off-Season Roster Limit] Because of DL'd players, offseason trades and call-ups, rosters will be allowed to exceed the 28 player limit for those purposes only. A Roster deadline will be set by the Commissioner's some time prior to the leagues Minor League Draft. By this deadline, All rosters must be trimmed to no more than 28 players. Any owner failing to meet this roster limit will not be allowed to make trades or other transactions until he complies. If you accept a trade after the 28 man roster deadline, your roster total after the trade must be in compliance with the Limit. If your roster is over 28 players after the trade, YOU MUST DROP A PLAYER(S) IMMEDIATELY.
5.2. [Participation]- You are required to maintain an adequate level of participation. If the Commissioners feel that your activity level is lacking and you are not making timely roster moves, you will receive an email inquiring about your status. We understand the you have family, work and a personal life, but not updating your roster for weeks or months at a time is unacceptable. If no response is received or your participation level does not increase after the warnings, actions will be taken to replace you as an owner.
5.3. [Conduct] Trash talking is permitted as long as it is not offensive to any of the owners. Please use good judgment and keep it in a joking manner. If the Commissioners feel it's cruel or not in good taste, they can request for you to stop. If you fail to stop, the commissioners can lock your posting privledges.
5.4. The Commissioners will treat you with respect and professionalism and we expect the same from you.
5.5. Please place posts in the proper threads. Don't talk about the draft in the Round thread, instead place it in the Draft discussion thread. If you have a suggestion, it goes in the suggestion threads. Using Proper threads makes sure posts are read and noticed.
5.6. [Communication and Activity] Communication for a keeper league of this size is essential. Please keep all IM names and email addresses up to date.
5.7. [AIM] AOL Instant Messenger will be another tool used to help communicate amoung owners . It is free and easy to download and set-up. It is the most effective form of communication within this league. You can readily see when other owners are online and have access to them instantly. If you don’t already have it please go download it at www.aim.com/ and provide everyone with your screen name. If you do have it just post your screen name on the message board and I will compile a master list for everyone.
5.8 [Accidents] In case of accidentally dropping the wrong player from your roster when making an FA transaction. That owner must post a message on the message boards within 1 hour of the mistake. If no message is posted on the message boards within that time period, said player will be available to any owner in the league. Once posted that owner must wait the default waiver period before the player can be picked up.
5.9 In case of accidentally accepting a trade. That owner must post within 1 hour of the mistake. If no message is posted on the message boards within that time period, it will be up to the discretion of the other owner, in the trade, on whether the trade goes through or not.
